Global Security Associates were contracted by an FBO at
Dulles International Airport in Washington, D.C., to handle
all their security needs during the week of the 55th Presidential
Inauguration.
This premier General Aviation facility at IAD was in
great demand as dignitaries, industry leaders, politicians
and famous personalities were heading into Washington
D.C. to attend this historic event. MWAA (Metropolitan
Washington Airports Authority) provided overflow aircraft
parking on ‘Quebec’ taxiway. Private aircraft
were lined up nose to nose as far as the eye could see
on one mile of taxiway. Vehicles were used to shuttle
the passengers to and from the General Aviation Terminal.
GSA set up a 24 hour command center at the FBO to coordinate
the security activities which was securing buildings,
hangars, vehicle access, parking ramps and the hundreds
of private aircraft. Planning for this event had gone
on for a year with the FBO to make sure that everything
had been covered. There was no room for error.
